Follow in the footsteps of the Mammoth Hunters - with Nicky Mansell

What to expect:

Join Nicky Mansell, Jersey Uncovered Blue Badge Guide, and discover the beautiful bay of St Brelade and Ouaisne. Learn about the people who have made it their home from the Neanderthal Mammoth hunters of the last ice age through to the wartime occupation, and modern day inhabitants.

This walk is perfect for you if you fancy following in the footsteps of the mammoth hunters to discover the prehistoric wonders of our famous Palaeolithic site “La Cotte de St. Brelade”.

Nicky will lead you on an adventurous ramble as you clamber across the rocky foreshore to the foot of La Cotte de St Brelade, where Neanderthals and Mammoth wandered and lived for over 190,000 years.

Then a short climb up onto the headland, to view the RAMSAR* site of the Minquiers. This walk explores the intertidal zone and the cliffs of one of the wilder headlands in the island.

The tour is timed to be able to explore the intertidal zone near Ouaisne and look up to the world famous archaeological site of Cotte de St Brelade.
