Terms & Conditions
Thank you for getting in touch with Jersey Uncovered. We look forward to meeting you and giving you a memorable and rewarding experience of our wonderful Island.
Like anybody doing this, we need to have a few Terms and Conditions. These are they. When you make a booking it is on the basis that you accept and agree to them.
Booking
A Booking Form will be provided by Jersey Uncovered, and this needs to be completed and returned to Jersey Uncovered to book a tour.
Bookings may be sent via email to: info@jerseyuncovered.com or via post to the individual guide whom you have chosen.
Our contract
The contract for your tour will be with one or more members of Jersey Uncovered.
Your booking will be accepted when your guide has issued an invoice to you for your tour at which point and on which date the contract for your tour shall come into existence.
Payment
Following the initial booking a deposit of 20% of the tour fee is generally required to fully reserve the tour (unless otherwise agreed).
Full payment of the balance must be received at least 14 working days before the tour takes place. Please quote your invoice number when making payment.
You may pay by one of the following methods:
Credit Card
Bank Transfer
Cash
Jersey Goods and Service Tax (GST) does not apply to tour fees.
Confirmation of booking
By completing the booking form, you agree that all written communications with you by your guide will be made by email to the address specified in your booking form.
Bookings will be confirmed by email after payment of the deposit is received.
Receipts will be sent only on request.
Agents – please ensure you send a copy of these Terms and Conditions and the booking form to your group leaders.
Cancellation by client
Cancellations may be by phone, in writing, or by email.
Where a cancellation is received more than 30 days before commencement of the tour a full refund of any monies paid will be made.
Where a cancellation is received less than 30 days but more than 14 days before commencement of the tour, the 20% deposit will be retained.
If less than 14 days’ notice is given when cancelling a tour or a guide booked for a tour, or if the group fails to arrive, the total amount of the tour fee will be retained to pay the guide(s).
Cancellation by Jersey Uncovered/Your Guide
Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that tours actually run, Jersey Uncovered reserves the right to modify the content of the tour when conditions are likely to be dangerous or unsuitable.
When such a modification is not possible, Jersey Uncovered will notify you of cancellation as soon as practicable.
In the event of cancellation, you will be offered the choice of (a) a full refund of fees paid or (b) another tour on a different date.
Jersey Uncovered is not responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred.
Liability
Jersey Uncovered and your individual guide accept no liability for any loss, damage or injury to persons or property, from any cause whatsoever, in connection with your booked tour.
Clients should be aware that walking tours will involve gentle to moderate walking in urban street conditions, on cliff paths with suitably qualified guides, and in rural and wooded areas, or through Heritage sites, in varying weather. Each client should satisfy him/herself that he/she is sufficiently fit, and in possession of the appropriate clothes and equipment.
Complaints
Any complaint about a tour or your guide should be made to Jersey Uncovered and to your guide.
Jersey Uncovered will handle the complaint on behalf of your guide in accordance with its complaint procedures but as Jersey Uncovered acts only as agent for the guides, it accepts no responsibility for the conduct of your tour.
English Tours for Groups of Foreign Students
Guides can be booked to match the English level of the group: beginners or intermediate. Please specify the level required in the booking form. We advise a 1.5 hour tour for beginners.
Fees
Please see below:
Meet and greet at Harbour or Airport - £45
Bespoke half-day tour (4 hours) - £160
Bespoke full-day tour (4-8 hours) - £260
Bespoke tour, less than 4 hours - £45 per hour
The fees quoted are exclusive of any admission charges imposed by the owners and operators of any premises visited on your tour.
Each group leader counts as one person and there are no free places on tours and no price reduction for children.
Large groups of young people must be accompanied by an adult group leader on their tour – at least one group leader per 18 students. One guide will be allocated to every 19 people. Some sites impose a lower limit to this number. If applicable, you will be informed of this before your booking is finally confirmed.
Children
Children must be accompanied by an adult (maximum 2 children per adult).
Wheelchairs
Wheelchair users are welcome on all tours of Saint Helier and sites in Saint Helier. As access to some locations may be restricted, please let us know at the time of booking to ensure that the tour can be wheelchair accessible.
Guide dogs
Guide dogs are welcome on our tours.
Data Protection
Jersey Uncovered respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. Please therefore refer to our privacy notice on our website which will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website (regardless of where you visit it from) and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us
The personal data provided by clients of Jersey Uncovered shall only be used for the purposes of the reservation of the required tours offered by Jersey Uncovered, and for conducting the required tours offered by Jersey Uncovered.
In accordance with GDPR requirements, you will also be requested to provide specific consent if you agree to Jersey Uncovered Holding your details on record for the purpose of receiving information regarding future tours and offers. It is possible to opt out of this at any specific time by contacting us at info@jerseyuncovered.com heading your e-mail “Withdrawal of Consent to Marketing”
A confirmatory e-mail will be forwarded to you at the time of removal of your details from our mailing list.
