Exploring the South-West Corner – with Jon Osmont

What to expect:

‘A walking tour from Corbière to Petit Port, to uncover a dolmen, a lighthouse and bunkers’

Enjoy a fascinating walking tour of the South-West corner of our island with Blue Badge Guide Jon Osmont.

This walk takes you around Corbière headland, including a close up view of the lighthouse and the radio tower, otherwise known as MP2.  Learn of the dramatic events that led to the construction of the 19th Century lighthouse on this tidal island, and hear the history of the imposing fortifications that scatter this headland.

The walk continues along footpaths and road to Petit Port to uncover one of the first Dolmen to be built in the island.

This circular walk takes approximately 90 minutes and is over some uneven ground and footpaths.  Comfortable sturdy footwear is recommended.

Meet at Corbière in the car park by the Radio Tower.
