Exploring Noirmont and Portelet

What to Expect

An entertaining meander, this adventure will take you on a circuit from Noirmont Point with its commanding bunkers and outstanding views, across to Portelet common where we will look down on the amazing Paleolithic site of La Cotte de St Brelade, which is also known as Lé Creux ès Fées.

Although the name La Cotte means ‘the cave’ in Jèrriais, the site is actually a ravine – a deep steep-sided valley which cuts right through the granite headland at Ouaisne, St Brelade. To learn more of the fascinating history of these two remarkable headlands, join your Blue Badge Guide for an entertaining 2 hour stroll.

The walk is an easy moderate stroll of approximately 4 miles along paths and lanes. Suitable hiking footwear is strongly recommended.

Meet at Noirmont Car Park.
